“Blindsight” was created by Noam Enbar, in collaboration with Yonatan Levy (texts), Nir Shauloff (dramaturge) and the Great Gehenna choir members. The piece was presented as part of Mekudeshet Festival 2018, and performed in the Jerusalem Forest as a multi-participant ceremony. The work is a milestone in the evolution of the group's artistic foundations - the creation of experiential, communal and ritual music.
The recorded version of “Blindsight” set in front of you, is an edited version of the performance, adapted for home listening. It consists of selected takes compiled from three complete performances, and preserves the original structure of the piece. The aerial space of the live performance is also kept in the recording - one can hear the subtle sounds of the environment - dogs barking, car noises, and footsteps of choir members. Parts of the performance have been shortened or combined, to maintain a tightly bound listening experience.
We wish you a pleasant listening
